Saya tak tau arti benang merah sebenarnya, hanya istilah yang sering dipakai banyak orang untuk menghubungkan berbagai hal pada satu muara kesimpulan atau hubungan antara satu kejadian dengan kejadian lain yang tak sengaja… kira-kira begitu pendapat saya.

Saat kuliah, saya sering menyambangi kos-an teman-teman saya di jalan Babakan Ciamis, kawasan wastukencana bandung. Biasanya karena waktu kuliah yang nyambung kembali dalam dua-tiga jam dan pulang ke Ciumbuleuit terlalu jauh, saya mendingan ngaso di BBC, nama yang diberikan dari singkatan nama jalan itu. Pemilik kos adalah orang Ciamis asli. Katanya nama jalan diambil dari banyaknya komunitas orang Ciamis yang bermukim disana. Tapi karib saya tak ada yang berasal dari Ciamis, kebanyakan orang Cirebon, Jakarta atau Tasikmalaya.

Saat wisata menuju Pangandaran tahun 1995, saya melintasi kota Ciamis dan sempat bilang “kayaknya saya nanti gak mau tinggal di kota sesepi ini, gak banget…” Pada saat itu, alun-alun kotanya sepi banget dan banyak toko-toko khas pecinan dengan palang pintu dari papan lapuk yang tutup, jauh banget keadaannya dengan kondisi sekarang.

Mungkin ini benang merahnya, saat ini saya malah bermukim hampir 5 tahun lamanya di Ciamis… !
Ternyata saya menemukan kawan lama di kuliahan yang dulu sering saya temui di jalan Babakan Ciamis itu justru di kota ini. satu orang bekerja menjadi PNS, satu orang yang saya tahu orang Cicalengka ternyata memiliki cabang toko emas di pasar Ciamis, dan satu orang lagi… bermukim di Tasikmalaya namun bersuamikan orang Rancah-Ciamis…

Subhanallaah..rupanya saya terhubung dengan benang merah, seperti surat kehidupan yang penuh rahasia dan semuanya tersirat dan terhubung tanpa ujung. Terikat kuat namun tak terlihat. Katanya benang itu melilit manis di kelingking jari kita yang menghubungkan takdir, jodoh, keadaan dan nasib… entahlah…
